The Macmillan connection
Over the years we have had much help from the Macmillan Cancer
Support team at York.

From the top (left to right): Wilma Burniston ,
longest serving between 1995 and 2004, before she moved to
the Darlington area, always ready to lend a hand and even
jump on a bike.
Nicky Hawkins was on a temporary
watch looking after Leeds at the same time; she is now concentrating
her attention on that city. Karina Stead
took over from Nicky, but has since left Macmillan for "pastures
new and we wish her luck. Since January 2008, Shelagh Hopkinson
has taken up the challenge of area Fund Raising manager and
has been working well to promote the Great Milk (stout)
Ride over a widening range of events including the York
Cycle Show and It's a Knockout, both at York's famous Knavesmire
racecourse. We look forward to even more help to help Macmillan
Cancer Support in the future. Roohi Lupton, Community
Fundraiser works from the york office and will be
attending the 2008 event to help present the medals, certificates
and Macmillan "goodies".
